DFC 2025 Impact — Thanks To You, We’re Moving Strong Into 2026! Read Our Letter & Receipt
Dear Community, Member-Owners, Funders, Supporters, and Friends,
As the year comes to a close, we want to pause and thank our members, shoppers, partners, neighbors, and supporters. Your commitment, care, and solidarity have made a real difference—especially during a year of significant challenges and change.
In the final quarter of the year, together we have:
Subsidized CSA shares for 30 families, supporting access to fresh food throughout the summer and fall.
Expanded our catering and bulk ordering programs to include more bulk liquids, new solids and the long awaited bulk spices!
Made meaningful progress toward online ordering and delivery, responding to community demand - we will unveil this in early 2026!
Hosted regular healthy food demos and solidarity economy workshops.
Offered family-friendly programming, including free fruit for children, café storytime, and a CSA farm field trip.
Launched “Neighbors Feeding Neighbors” Fund, supporting households affected by cuts to federal food aid
Grown monthly sales by about 24% from the start of 2025 to the end of 2025. Your shopping makes such a big difference and is the key thing that brings us closer to sustainability! We thank you for shopping with us!!
Received generous member and partner donations through our GoFundMe, and secured multiple grants from partners invested in our success.
Navigated important staff and management transitions, including ongoing training in operations and governance, and welcoming a new in-store management team with expert support from Firebrand Cooperative.
As many of you know, in August, our co-op faced a serious cash-runway scare—just two months of operating funds. Combined with federal food aid cuts and rising costs of living in Q4, the road was not easy. Because of this community, our progress is deeply heartening. We have now secured a five-month cash runway and are building forward with renewed stability and confidence.
